Behavioral Health and Wellness Campus
The Health and Wellness Center will be the first-of-its kind in Fremont County and our region providing an integrated approach that includes mental, behavioral and physical health components all under one roof. It will serve as a transformative place for improving individual wellness and as a hub for healthy, active and mindful lifestyles.
Phase I is our Child and Family Behavioral Health Center providing various modalities of evidenced-based treatment including play therapy, talk therapy, family therapy, psychiatry and more. All services, and the space itself, have been thoughtfully designed around principles reflecting the latest in trauma-informed, family-centered treatment practices. Phase I was completed April of 2020.
Phase II of the project introduces the physical and wellness components of health including physical fitness, physical therapy, pain management and mixed-use areas designed to foster creativity, mindfulness and healthy living.
Phase III of the project is dedicated to “getting outside the four walls of clinical care” to improve health.
Regional Assessment Center (RAC)
The Regional Assessment Center will provide a safe place for adults with substance abuse and mental health crises to stabilize and get connected to a broad continuum of care. Currently, there are not adequate mental health or substance use stabilization services available in the region. This approximately 6,000 foot facility will be constructed on the Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center campus in Chaffee County. Ground breaking is scheduled for late 2020.
Our comprehensive continuum of care will match services to clients’ needs and save public and private payers from the exorbitant costs of unnecessary emergency room and inpatient hospitalization. As with all our services, human kindness and dignity will be a hallmark of the treatment approach. The RAC will provide 24/7 Crisis Services; Withdrawal Management in a safe, supervised space; Respite Care to provide a comfortable, safe place to have a break from a difficult situation; and Acute Treatment for active but short-term care during a severe mental health or substance use issue.
