Salida, CO – Filmmaker John Padilla is teaming up with Solvista Health to spread the message that when it comes to mental health challenges, recovery happens and suicide is preventable. On Thursday, March 16th, Padilla and Solvista will screen The Mountain in My Mind at a special event followed by a panel discussion.
The unique film features breathtaking ski footage and personal stories of ski community members with lived experience struggling with mental health. This free event will take place at Poncha Springs Town Hall starting at 5:30 pm. Appetizers and refreshments will be served. RSVP at EventBrite/The Mountain In My Mind.
Padilla’s powerful documentary was born from his personal tragedy of losing his younger brother to suicide. He now advocates for suicide prevention and emphasizing the vital need for mental health support for outdoor enthusiasts and beyond. Community leaders, including mental health professionals, will join a panel discussion after the film screening.
