Solvista Health Announces Leadership Transition

Cañon City, CO – After six years of dedicated service, Brian Turner, CEO of Solvista Health, has announced his decision to step down from his role in June. During his tenure, Solvista Health has achieved significant milestones in advancing mental health care accessibility and support services throughout Chaffee, Custer, Fremont, and Lake Counties.

“This decision was not an easy one,” said Turner. “While I am excited about new opportunities ahead, it has truly been the most meaningful work of my life to take this journey alongside so many wonderful people. The organization is in a very healthy place and the timing is right for me to pass the torch.”

Under Turner's leadership, Solvista Health has:

  • Opened new facilities in Buena Vista, Cañon City, and Salida; doubled its staff; and increased total clients served by 112%.
  • Added multiple new service lines including substance use treatment, criminal justice programs, and 24/7/365 behavioral health crisis care to create a complete continuum of care available throughout entire service region for individuals of all ages.
  • Opened a first-of-its-kind, 24/7/365 regional acute care facility providing inpatient mental health and substance use disorder treatment services.
  • Expanded youth focused behavioral health services across the region through the Child First in-home support program for kids 0-5; implemented a youth voucher for cost-covered therapy sessions; partnered with Cañon City Schools and Valley-wide Health Systems to create a school-based health clinic at Cañon City Middle School; and developed a mobile Crisis Resolution Team for youth needing urgent support.
  • Formed the Solvista Health Member Advisory Council comprising current and former clients, family members, and local advocates who engage to help advance Solvista’s mission to provide responsive, person-centered, and community-driven care.

Succeeding Turner as the new CEO of Solvista Health is Mandy Kaisner, the current Chief Operating Officer. Kaisner has been with Solvista for nearly 20 years and brings extensive clinical, operational, and policy expertise to the role.

“We are deeply grateful to Brian for his transformative leadership these past years, and also excited to welcome Mandy into this new role,” said Bret Meuli, Board Chair for Solvista. “Like Brian, Mandy lives and breathes our mission and values. She has been on the front lines of care, shown up for our communities in times of tragedy, and knows our partners at local, state, and national levels.”
