Cañon City, CO/May, 2025 – In 2024, El Pomar Foundation awarded Solvista Health a financial gift which included a specific allocation to form a Youth Advisory Council. As one of the Council’s first actions in 2025, they worked with Solvista leadership to expand the Youth Voucher to all four counties Solvista serves.
The Voucher helps youth ages 12 to 18 years fast-track the normal entry process to mental health services by giving them two telehealth sessions with a Brief Intervention Clinician, accessible immediately. In order to access the services, a young person simply calls Solvista or walks into any location and mentions they would like to use the Youth Voucher. Their first telehealth session will be scheduled right away.
The Youth Advisory Council aims to give youth a regional voice in shaping behavioral health services in the four counties Solvista serves, Chaffee, Custer, Fremont and Lake. The group will work to reduce barriers to accessing behavioral health services for youth, act as a platform for discussing youth issues, and offer important feedback to Solvista Health and community partners.
"Counseling is a very helpful thing and a lot of people make it a scary thing,” said an Advisory Council Member. “The Youth Voucher allows simple access to care and the fact that it's an online session makes it even easier."
If you would like to support youth mental health services in our region, a $100 donation will provide one youth voucher (two telehealth counseling sessions) to a local youth. Your donation will make a difference for a young person in your community. It’s easy to give at, Donate to Solvista Health, or use the QR code below.
