The Wraparound Program works to improve the lives of children and families with complex needs. Families work with a Wraparound facilitator who helps organize a team of natural and professional supports to work together and integrate ideas into a plan that is primarily family driven. Families that most benefit from this program often have difficulties in multiple areas in their lives and can benefit from the collaboration between multiple community systems. The goal is to keep families together and keep children within the community.
The process is driven by ten principles:
- Family voice and choice
- Team based approach
- Using natural supports
- Collaboration
- Community based
- Culturally competent
- Individualized
- Strengths based
- Persistence
- Outcome based
