Meuli Named Solvista Health Board Member of the Year Oct. 13, 2021

Cañon City, CO – Solvista Health recently announced Bret Meuli was named as a 2021 Board Member of the Year by the Colorado Behavioral Healthcare Council, the statewide advocacy organization for community mental health and substance use treatment.  Meuli was recognized earlier this month at the Colorado Behavioral Healthcare Council’s 49th Annual Conference in Breckenridge along with other state leaders in behavioral health.

Meuli has been the Solvista Health Board Chair since April 2020 and has served on the Board for eight years.  His dedication and stewardship have been particularly impressive throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. “Bret has been a model for the adaptability, perseverance, and relentless optimism we needed to see ourselves through such unprecedented challenges,” said Brian Turner, Solvista Health CEO.  “He is an inquisitive, thoughtful leader who helped our organization not only survive such tumultuous times, but indeed to thrive.”

Meuli is a former United States Marine Corp helicopter pilot and longtime leader in the educational field, serving as Cañon City High School Assistant Principal and Principal, and now enjoying his passion of teaching U.S. history. He is married with three daughters, two of which are still attending Cañon City schools, and an active member of his church.

As a teacher, coach, and leader in Cañon City Schools for many years, Meuli’s leadership has helped develop innovative partnerships in service to youth.  In addition, he has been a staunch advocate for expanding Solvista Health services to military veterans.  As a veteran himself, he is a champion for developing partnerships with the Veteran’s Administration and veterans service organizations to address behavioral health needs.
